This summer, Universal Studios Japan (USJ) is set to thrill fans with the introduction of two exclusive attractions based on the globally beloved anime series, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.” Starting in July 2024, visitors can experience the magic of these attractions, meticulously crafted to immerse fans into the world of Tanjiro and his comrades.
Innovative Rides, “Race to Swordsmith Village” and “Hollywood Dream”, Unveiled
The first attraction, the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba XR Ride — Race to Swordsmith Village,” offers a thrilling virtual reality experience. Guests will join Tanjiro on his quest to deliver a new sword, navigating through a village besieged by demons. This ride promises an exhilarating encounter with favorite characters like Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji, brought to life with stunning 360-degree visuals.
The second major attraction, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba × Hollywood Dream – The Ride,” (from Hashira Training Arc) builds on the excitement of the anime’s narrative. Starting from April 12, 2024, this ride features a unique story coaster where fans can train alongside famed Demon Slayer Hashiras such as Giyu Tomioka and Gyomei Himejima. This attraction combines high-speed thrills with the immersive sounds of the characters’ voices, enhancing the adventure as guests soar through the park.
At USJ, the “Demon Slayer XR Ride – Infinite Train,” which has recorded a 99% satisfaction rate, is currently being revived for a limited time until June 9, 2024 (Sunday).

More Than Just Rides (Food and Merchandise)
Apart from the rides, USJ is enhancing the “Demon Slayer” experience with themed merchandise and culinary delights. The “Tanjiro’s Gourd Bucket with Sweet Soy-Glazed Popcorn,” inspired by Tanjiro’s iconic gourd, will be available from July 18, 2024. Additionally, a themed restaurant will open the next day, offering dishes that promise to transport guests into the world of “Demon Slayer,” creating a full sensory experience.

Huge Response to Sanemi Shinazugawa’s Battle Scenes
The new episode of the TV anime “Demon Slayer,” titled “Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc,” was broadcast on Fuji TV on the 12th. Online, Sanemi Shinazugawa’s battle scenes have sparked a lot of discussions. The episode starts with a joint battle scene featuring Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Hashira, and Obanai Iguro, the Serpent Hashira, fighting demons together. This is the first time both characters showcase their “Breath of Wind” and “Breath of Serpent” techniques, and additionally, this scene is an original story exclusive to the anime.
